Częstoch Fair (Częstoch Games)
The exhibition of sculptures balancing over the revitalized Old Market Square in Częstochowa is the world's largest, compact and permanent exposition of Jerzy Jota Kędziora's works in a public open space. Fourteen statues by the artist from Częstochowa form a kind of aerial spectacle in which the participants, almost levitating or defying gravity, demonstrate characteristics and skills typical of their professions. They create mime mini-scenes. This makes up a peculiar theater called "Igrce Częstocha" (Chęstoch's Games), a cultural and entertainment element of a folk festival, fair, or other festive event. The patron of the show Częstoch, the etymological father of the city, stood in the middle of the event, highlighting the 800th anniversary of the appearance of the name Częstochowa in historical annals. Kędziora's balancing sculptures are a unique phenomenon in the compartment of representational art. They were presented at the most important artistic confrontations and have become a permanent fixture in various parts of the world. They can be found in many cities in America and Europe as well as on the Middle East and Far East.
